PGA professional David Mather has added his name to one of North East golf’s most illustrious lists by joining Alnmouth Golf Club as head professional.
David moves to Alnmouth from Burgham Park and is hoping to make his mark on the nearly 150-year-old club.
“I was approached by the club in August and the opportunity was far too good to miss out on,” said David. “Alnmouth has a fantastic history – both in its professionals and the players it has produced – and the new facilities make it one of the best places to be a teaching professional in Northumberland.
“There are a lot of things moving forward at Alnmouth and to be part of that is going to be fantastic.”
David will be working with a full range of amateur golfers at Alnmouth, including multiple club champions from across the county, as well as providing a full range of PGA pro services.
“The role at Alnmouth is everything you want as a PGA pro. The teaching facilities are fantastic; I’ll have a new, larger shop ready in the New Year and all the latest equipment for custom fitting. There are plans for more and hopefully we’ll see those later in the year.
“Peter and the team at the club have been superb in welcoming me and I’m looking forward to improving the facilities available to the members and visitors to the club.”
