Matfen Hall to host PGA Super 60s Championship

Matfen Hall will host the PGA Super 60s Championship August 1-3.

Featuring teams of professionals and amateurs over the age of 60, the field in past events has featured Ryder Cup players including Lionel Platts and Bernard Hunt.

“I am delighted that the PGA has decided to use Matfen Hall as a host venue,” said Nicola Hawes, golf manager at Matfen Hall. “The North East has hosted some quality events recently and we are very pleased to receive this recognition for the hard work that goes into producing the fantastic golfing experience here. I am looking forward to working with the PGA to ensure that we can showcase all of our facilities and host the best event possible.”

First played in 1994, the Super 60s event has been hosted by clubs including Rudding Park, Gleneagles (Queens), Forest Pines and Blackwell Golf Club in its history.
