Longhirst Hall Golf Club will host the North East qualifying round of the Junior European Open on Sunday October 21.
The event, first staged in 1993, is one of the toughest tests in junior golf in Europe with the Champions Week Finals in Andalucia, Spain staged over five rounds on two of the top courses in Europe.
Entries for the individual strokeplay event, open to boys and girls and played off scratch, are open now.
All golf clubs are invited to nominate up to six juniors (boys and/or girls) to go forward into the Regional Finals, while entries are also open to individual players.
The qualifiers (the top two boys and one girl) from all Regional Finals will head to the Champions Week Finals in Spain in November.
