What are you doing this season?
“I’ve just completed my PGA training so haven’t spent too much time on the golf course this year. Having moved to Wynyard last April, I’ve been settling in while sitting my final exams and things have been going really well across the shop, custom fitting and coaching. I’ve played a couple of events in the last few weeks and things are shaping up well on the course, and I’m looking forward to playing more on the NE/NW PGA circuit next season.”
How did you get into the game?
“Like most golfers out there, I started in the back garden under my dad’s watchful eye. From there I joined Seaton Carew and was hooked. I’d get dropped off in the morning and picked up in the evening, and just fell in love with playing golf. I progressed through the junior ranks onto the men’s team and county events but my golf really improved in my 20s having been off to university. I started to win bigger events before turning pro aged 28.”
What does the future hold?
“An exciting mix. I’ll be balancing club commitments while playing a key role in developing custom fitting here at Wynyard, with kit like the SAM Puttlab. I’m also planning on playing and competing a little more. It’s a really exciting time coming up on and off the golf course.”
