South Moor Golf Club has launched the perfect antidote to cold and dark evenings – an indoor golf league.
The league started in early December, will run through to March, and is open to members and non-members.
PGA professional Shaun Cowell said: “Normally, the studio is used for club fitting or coaching.
“One of our members suggested an indoor winter league and the more we looked into the idea the more we liked it.”
The studio has a golf simulator system which allows Cowell and fellow South Moor pro Mark Ridley to use a 42ins television screen to examine swing path and adjust technique – as well a test skills with a range of challenges.
December sees a nearest the pin event from 100 yards out, before a 150 yard challenge in January and a long driving contest in February. All three will be combined in the final event in March. To enter, call 01207 283 525.
