Fresh from her fourth place finish in the English Women’s Strokeplay Championship, Bishop Auckland’s Jess Hall teamed up with Jamie Birkbeck to successfully defend the Durham County Mixed Foursomes Championship title.
Jess shot rounds of 72, 74, 72 and 72 to finish on six under-par at Manchester Golf Club, just two behind winner Abbie Teasdale, before moving on to Rockliffe Hall for the final stages of the Durham County event.
In the semi-finals against Durham City’s Jack and Louise Richardson, the Bishop team won 6&4 while Whickham’s Lucy Ashworth and Bryan Levey defeated Wearside’s Millie Nixon and Neil Harrison 4&3.
In the final, Jess and Jamie completed a 4&3 victory in ever-changing conditions.
