Ganton to host the 2027 men’s European Amateur Championship

The 2027 men’s European Amateur Championship will be held at Ganton Golf Club on June 23-26.

The event – which was originally due to be held on the Hotchkin Course at The National Golf Centre, Woodhall Spa in Lincolnshire – has been moved due to work on the clubhouse redevelopment at the home of England Golf, which will interfere with the date of the championship.

The tournament consistently ranks among the strongest amateur strokeplay events in the world based on the World Amateur Golf Ranking, and it boasts an impressive list of past participants. Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland, Tommy Fleetwood, Ludvig Åberg, Sergio Garcia, and Paul Casey have all either won the event or finished on the podium – alongside numerous other notable names.

The last two EGA individual championships to be held in England have both yielded home winners. Alfie Plant triumphed in a three-way playoff at Walton Heath in 2017, while Alice Hewson won the women’s equivalent event after a seven-hole playoff at Parkstone Golf Club in 2019.

The 2026 edition of the event takes place on June 24-27 at Linna Golf in Finland, with the winner booking a spot at The Open.
