First Three Peaks Golf Festival proves a success with second event set for September

The first Three Peaks Golf Festival proved a huge success as it brought together golfers from across the region and beyond at three scenic courses.

Held across three days, the festival was hosted by Bentham Golf Course, Kirkby Lonsdale Golf Club and Skipton Golf Club and gave competitors the opportunity to enjoy everything the Yorkshire Dales has to offer.

Over three days, 172 players competed in a fourball betterball format with daily prizes awarded before the overall festival champions were crowned following the final round at Skipton.

John Marshall, operations director at Wenningdale Escapes and Bentham Golf Course, said: “We knew the festival had great potential with the quality of the three courses and because it offered golfers the rare opportunity to play them all as part of one event. The response has exceeded our expectations. The tournament generated more than £30,000 for the participating courses and brought valuable business to the local area. It’s been fantastic to see the wider community benefit from the event.

“We’re already looking forward to welcoming golfers back for our mixed pairs festival in September, as well as an exciting programme of events planned for next year. Watch this space!”

The Three Peaks Golf Festival will return this September with a mixed pairs competition before an expanded programme of events takes place throughout 2027.
