Teams from across Yorkshire have progressed to the First Division Seniors Club Team Championship following the Second Division event at Easingwold.
Knaresborough’s Ian Blackhouse (73), Dean Sleight (74) and Ivor Roy (74) led the way with a five over-par total as Halifax Bradley Hall’s Paul Taylor (75), Darren Davison (77) and Andy Whitworth (78) finished second on 14 over-par. Meanwhile, Otley’s Paul Woods shot a level-par 72 to lead the individual scoring.
The top nine teams – Knaresborough, Halifax Bradley Hall, Hull, Shipley, Hillsborough, Hornsea, Saltburn, Selby and Bingley St Ives – will progress to the final stage of this year’s event at Fulford on September 30, where they will join the 18 teams already qualified for the event from last season.
