England Golf has named 13 players in its 2026/27 national men’s squad, including Yorkshire’s Jake Sowden and Jack Whaley.
The UK-based squad includes six players – Jake (The Oaks), Ben Bolton (Enville, Staffordshire), Jenson Bull (Parkstone, Dorset), Lewy Hayward (Marlborough, Wiltshire), Max Hopkins (Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire) and Harley Smith (The Rayleigh, Essex).
The US-based squad includes US Amateur champion Jack (Rotherham) alongside Seb Cave (Coxmoor, Nottinghamshire), Sam Easterbrook (Olton, Warwickshire), Ed Featherstone (Sheringham, Norfolk), Daniel Hayes (Bramhall, Cheshire), Freddie Turnell (Burnham & Berrow, Somerset) and Tyler Weaver (Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk).
Ben Gorvett, England Golf’s men’s performance manager, said: “The standard of players in our squads for the 2026/27 season is extremely high, and the competition for places is as strong as ever. The players we have selected have shown they can compete at the highest level, including while representing England, and Great Britain and Ireland.
“They also know there are plenty of talented golfers coming through who are eager to earn their place in the squad and push for selection in future teams. That competition will be a real driving force throughout the winter and will help maintain the high standards and work ethic we expect from the group.
“To have this strength in depth, alongside a number of players progressing into the professional ranks, demonstrates the strength of our pathway from county through to regional and national level. Our coaching team is looking forward to a productive winter of hard work with the squads, and we wish all our players who have recently turned professional every success in the next chapter of their careers.”
