Castle Eden’s Stu Brown has been called up to the England team for the first time ahead of this year’s Senior Home Internationals.
Stu will earn his first England cap at the annual event – which takes place at Castlerock in Ireland on September 17-19.
The England senior men’s and women’s team will compete together in head-to-head matches against Ireland, Scotland and Wales over the three days. Each match includes six foursomes games and 12 singles matches (six men and six women) – and the England team will be aiming to defend the trophy they won in 2023 at West Kilbride.
The England team includes: Ian Ashenden (China Fleet, Cornwall), Stuart Brown (Castle Eden, Durham), Stephen Creed (Stratford-on-Avon, Warwickshire), Danny Holmes (Rochester & Cobham Park, Kent), Kevin Parkes (Lindrick, Yorkshire), Steve Sansome (Rothley Park, Leicestershire), Paul Wharton (Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire), Caroline Berry (Bromborough, Cheshire), Emma Brown (Malton & Norton, Yorkshire), Helen Lowe (Scraptoft, Leicestershire), Sally Shayler (Bedfordshire), Kerry Smith (Waterlooville, Hampshire), Sara Spencer (Heswall, Cheshire), Tracey Williamson (Sheringham, Norfolk) and Sarah Naden (reserve, The Wilmslow, Cheshire).
