Northumberland county champion Charlotte Naughton helped England’s girls beat Switzerland at Pannal ahead of the North of England Under 16s Championship.
Ponteland-based Charlotte teamed up with Chloe Tabard in the morning foursomes to pick up a half point before narrowly losing her singles match 1dn. England’s four-strong team – which also included Annabel Peaford and Elizabeth Wilson – won the match 3.5-2.5.
