Charlotte Naughton ends the season at the top of the England Golf Girls’ Order of Merit

Charlotte Naughton’s incredible year on the national and international stage culminated in her topping the England Golf Girls’ Order of Merit for 2025.

Longhirst Hall-based Charlotte had a sensational season in 2025 – winning the World Junior Girls Golf Championship in Canada and becoming the first Englishperson to win the German Girls’ Amateur. She also finished runner-up in The R&A Girls’ Amateur Championship and the St Rule Trophy at St Andrews – where she picked up the Lawson Trophy as the leading player under the age of 18 for a second time. The 17-year-old also enjoyed top 10 finishes at the French U21 International (Esmond Trophy), Scottish Girls’ Open, and Spanish International Ladies.

On the team front, Charlotte represented Europe in the 2025 Junior Ryder Cup and helped England win the Girls’ & Boys’ Home Internationals. She also represented her country at the Toyota Junior Golf World Cup in Japan and the European Girls’ Team Championship, and helped England beat Spain in their biennial international match.

“It feels really special to win the order of merit,” said Charlotte. “This is the first time I’ve won it and it’s a great achievement as I’m competing against very high-level golfers.

“Being crowned world champion was a highlight of my year. The support I received from England Golf and my teammates – Lauren Crump and Ellie Lichtenhein – made memories that will last a lifetime. Representing Europe in the Junior Ryder Cup was also a massive highlight as my focus and goal for 2025 was to earn a spot in the European team.

“It would be a dream come true to be selected to represent GB&I in the Curtis Cup in 2026, and I’d also like to continue to represent England at international level. Another target is to continue being consistent and pick up some titles in 2026. Finally, I want to perform well and enjoy my first LPGA event – the CPKC Women’s Open – before I head off to the University of Alabama.”
