Champions line up

Entries are open for the 2017 Northern Golfer Champion of Champions in partnership with Lookers Renault and hosted by Ramside Hall.

The events, which take place September 9 and September 16, are free to enter and will bring together champions from Northumberland, Co Durham, Teesside, the Scottish Borders, Cumbria and Yorkshire within Northern Golfer’s circulation.

Already confirmed for the men’s event are Northumberland county team members Craig Penny (Newbiggin), Daniel Shevill (Slaley Hall), Stewart Fell (Tynemouth); while Durham is already represented by Joe Allon (Ravensworth), Matthew Moore (Ramside Hall), Tom Smith (Eaglescliffe), Phil Nicholson (Seaton Carew) and Jack Richardson (Durham City), with more champions joining the list each week.

Entries are also open for the ladies and junior events, many of which will take place in August. Entries will close in the first week of September and champions are invited to enter their details, and select their tee time, online at www.northerngolfer.co.uk/champion-of-champions-2017

The men’s champion of champion for 2017 will earn a start at a EuroPro Tour event in the North for 2018. The winner will join the best young professionals in the UK & Ireland for a three-round event with the chance to compete on the third-tier tour which offers professionals the chance to earn a place on the following season’s Challenge Tour.
