Andrew Wilson will tee it up on the Challenge Tour in 2020 following the end of the EuroPro Tour and Challenge Tour seasons, and European Tour Qualifying School.
Rockliffe Hall-based Andrew finished in sixth place in the EuroPro Tour’s Race to Desert Springs for 2019, missing out on one of the five Challenge Tour cards available by just £219.11.
However, following the conclusion of the Challenge Tour season, Todd Clements and Richard Mansell – who held top five positions on the EuroPro Tour – have improved their playing status for 2020 through the Challenge Tour’s order of merit, meaning Andrew steps up to take a card.
Andrew said: “It’s a good feeling to be heading to the Challenge Tour next season. Earning my card was my main goal for 2019 and to achieve that in my first year as a pro is fantastic. It’s going to be good to play at the next level.
“This season has been a success as a whole with a EuroPro Tour win at Linden Hall and making the cut at The Open. I didn’t play as well following The Open, which I need to learn from next season, but as whole I’m very happy with my year.
“The highlight has to be The Open. It was the icing on top of the year after I’d ticked off my goals on the EuroPro Tour. Knowing I can play good golf at the highest level has given me a lot of confidence going forward.”
