Australia’s Jazy Roberts wins the English Women’s Stroke Play at Ganton

Australia’s Jazy Roberts blew away the field with a bogey-free eight under-par round on the final day to win the England Women’s Stroke Play title at Ganton Golf Club.

The 21-year-old Victoria native made an eagle and six birdies, including three in a row from the 13th, to finish the event on 13 under-par – seven shots clear of Switzerland’s Carlotta Locatelli. In challenging, windy conditions, the pair were the only players to finish under par after four rounds.

After opening with a bogey-free 69 (five under-par), then shooting a level-par round of 74, Jazy was joined by local favourite Cherry Marley (The Oaks) at the top of the leaderboard.

A three under-par front nine in round three pushed the Australian Amateur champion clear of the pack, and the 37th ranked player in the women’s World Amateur Golf Rankings powered home to join fellow Australian Abbie Teasdale as a winner of the event.

“It’s an honour,” said Jazy after collecting the trophy. “I knew Abbie had won a few years ago and we talked about it a little bit. Any win is special. I’m very happy – to shoot eight under-par is really nice.

“You have to keep the ball in play, avoid big numbers, and be in the fairway here. You also have to take advantage of the par fives, which I think I did reasonably well. I had a few eagles this week, so that helps. I’ve been playing well the last few weeks, although we haven’t had much tournament golf in Australia. I was excited to get here – it’s a really nice course.”

The English Women’s Stroke Play was a European Amateur Order of Merit (EAOM) event for 2026, and Jazy’s victory earned her an invitation to an LET Access Series event.

“I had no idea – so yes, that will be special,” she added after hearing the news. “I’ve got the Women’s Amateur next week, a few events in the US, and then I may look at turning pro after that.”

Meanwhile, defending champion and England women’s squad member Sadie Adams finished third on level-par, edging Cherry into fourth place on countback.
