Applications are now open for the England Golf Regional Coaching Programme for boys and girls.
The boys’ application deadline is 23.59 on Sunday August 9, and the girls’ deadline is 23.59 on Friday August 21.
Each year, England Golf seeks to identify the most talented young golfers from across the country to form its 20 regional coaching squads.
The regional squads provide players with coaching from experts in their fields, all of whom aim to develop young talent in areas associated with England Golf’s five pillars of performance.
The regional programme is managed by the performance team at England Golf. Assistant performance managers India Clyburn (girls) and Jamie O’Connor (boys) oversee the regional programme and support a network of regional coaches and managers in creating player-centred development environments.
Each squad is supported by a coach, manager, and a strength and conditioning coach.
For the North region (Northumberland, Durham and Cumbria), JJ Vallely serves as girls’ coach with Sian Oakley as girls’ manager while Simon Robinson coaches the boys’ squad with Philip Ross as manager, and Joel Brannigan servers as S&C coach.
In Yorkshire, Craig Fricker serves as girls’ coach with Kevin Fretwell as girls’ manager while James Freeman coaches the boys’ squad with Philip Woodcock as manager, and Mark Campbell servers as S&C coach.
