Following matches throughout the season, Teesside’s Dan Norman and Rob Hillier were crowned Yorkshire Union of Golf Clubs Inter-Club Foursomes champions.
Dan and Rob came through their semi-final with Baildon’s team to setup the final match with Silkstone’s Matt and Dan Wright, who reached the final following victory over Bingley St Ives’ team.
In the final, Dan and Rob went 3up through five holes, before Matt and Dan won the sixth and seventh holes to reduce the deficit to one. On the back nine of the opening round of the final, Dan and Rob pressed on, winning the 10th, 14th, 17th and 18th holes to take a 5up lead at lunchtime.
They then extended their lead to seven by winning the second and fourth holes. While Matt and Dan rallied and won two holes back, Dan and Rob would also win two more holes on the front nine to reach the turn 7up. One final push from Matt and Dan saw them win the 10th, but Dan and Rob continued their fine form with a two at the 11th and a three at the 12th to close out the match 8&6.
