Sisters Zara and Charlotte Naughton and Louisa Hamilton teamed up to win the Northumberland Schools Team Championship at Longhirst Hall and book a trip to the England Golf National Schools Final at Woodhall Spa this summer.
The Ponteland High School team, who are all members of Ponteland Golf Club, posted a best-two-from-three total of 149 to beat Chantry Middle School on countback and book their place in the national final on July 5 at the home of England Golf.
The individual gross prize was also decided on countback, between the Naughton sisters, with Charlotte pipping Zara after both shot level-par rounds of 73. Meanwhile, Junior Dobson – from QEHS and Hexham Golf Club – won the boys’ gross prize with a level-par round of 73.
