Blackwell Grange-based professional Aaron Cox shot a spectacular eight under-par 62, following it up with a round of 69, to win the North East & North West PGA Championship at Tyneside Golf Club.
Aaron led the field on nine under-par, with Tyneside-based James Wilson three shots back after his back-to-back rounds of 67. With his second-place finish, James won the Assistants’ Championship trophy.
Following the Championship, James remains in top spot in the season-long Mizuno Order of Merit, with Matfen Hall’s Tom Robson in second, and 2022 points leader Tim Dykes in third.
