Yorkshire’s boys’ team completed an impressive victory in the Northern Counties Boys’ Qualifying Championship (AKA The Little Six) at Brancepeth Castle Golf Club.
The team of George Cooper (68-69), Tom Hartshorne (69-72), Ollie Scott (70-68), Archie Palmer (71-67), Elliot Alcock (72-72) and Harry Richmond (75-70) put together a team score of four under-par as the best five scores from the six players counted for each round. Defending champions Cheshire finished second with a level-par total, while Lancashire finished third on 12 over-par.
The individual title went to Oliver Coleman from Lancashire, who shot rounds of 66 and 69 for a five under-par total.
Yorkshire will go on to represent the northern counties in the English Boys’ County Finals at Goswick on August 25-27.
