Tyneside’s James Wilson, Wynyard’s James Harper and Abbeydale’s Gareth Davies led the field in the North East & North West PGA’s Kitwave Carnoustie pro am.
Played over two days on the Championship and Burnside courses at Carnoustie – host of The Open Championship on eight occasions – the trio topped the leaderboard with four under-par totals (76 stableford points).
The team of Paul Pettinger, Roy Hinchcliffe and Ben Botham – with their professional Danny Walsh – won the team prize with a 38 under-par total of 182 points in the two scores from four format.
Meanwhile, in the association’s winter fourball betterball event at Rockliffe Hall, James Wilson and Morpeth’s David Clark teamed up to top the leaderboard with a nine under-par score – beating the teams of James Harper and Andrew Betts, and Craig Goodfellow and Jonathan Graham, by a single shot.
