Penrith-based Wil Marklew topped the leaderboard in the third North East & North West PGA Pro Series event of the season at Tyneside Golf Club.
Wil led the field of 41 professionals with a two under-par round of 68 as James Wilson and John Harrison finished one shot back in a tie for second place. George Cowan finished third with a level-par round of 70.
Next up on the NE/NW PGA circuit is the Northumberland Coastal Links Pro Am hosted by Alnmouth Village and Warkworth on May 1, followed the fourth Pro Series event at Castle Eden on May 7.
