Wearside-based Oscar Hancill and Millie Hixon won the boys’ and girls’ divisions in the Stephen Gallagher Foundation’s junior tournament at Goswick Golf Club.
Millie’s winning score of six over-par (294) was the lowest-ever recorded by a girl in the Goswick event. Meanwhile, Oscar finished his final round with a flourish, posting three birdies and an eagle over his last four holes to shoot a three over-par total of 291, which included a third round 67 to set a new course record from the white tees following the opening of the new par three seventh hole at Goswick on April 1.
