When they’re put straight into the bags of Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose and Dustin Johnson, you know TaylorMade’s new irons are going to be good. The latest additions to the P-700 series, the P790 irons are billed as “a forged players distance iron” with SpeedFoam Technology inside the cavity to provide forgiveness within a forged look. The P730 – a traditional blade modelled on the 2011 and 2014 Tour Preferred MB irons – offers a clean look at address and has proven popular with McIlroy and Rose playing a milled version of the iron while Johnson plays with a forged version (available at retail).
