Top players progress through the first stage of DP World Tour Q School at The Northumberland and Huddersfield

Leading players from across the region and beyond have earned a spot in the second stage of this year’s DP World Tour Q School following first stage events at The Northumberland Golf Club and Huddersfield Golf Club.

David Nyfjall from Sweden led the field after four days at The Northumberland – shooting rounds of 72, 70, 65 and 65 for a 12 under-par total. Also making it through among the top 11 and ties were Rob Dinwiddie and Alnmouth Village-based James Wilson.

Meanwhile, Norway’s Michael Mjaaseth topped the leaderboard at Huddersfield with a nine under-par total after shooting rounds of 65, 68, 69 and 69. Players who also made it through to second stage included Ashton Turner, Oliver Sullivan, Joe Padgin, Joe Brooks, Dylan Shaw-Radford, Harry Goddard, Ash Mansell and Paul Maddy.

The second stage of this year’s Q School will take place in Spain on October 29-November 1 at Desert Springs Resort in Almeria, Isla Canela Links in Huelva, Golf Las Pinaillas in Albacete, and Fontanals Golf Club in Girona. The Final Stage of Qualifying School will take place at INFINITUM on November 6-11 – where 156 players will compete over six rounds.
