The Northumberland’s men’s team lifted the Newcastle & District Golf League trophy following a season of inter-club matches across the region.
The Northumberland’s team topped division one for the third time in four years – following their victories in 2023 and 2024 and a runner-up finish last season.
Meanwhile, Tyneside won division two and earned promotion alongside Newcastle United and Whitley Bay – as Tynemouth, Blyth and Westerhope were relegated from division one.
In the individual points standings, The Northumberland’s Gary Parsons was the top points scorer in division one with 22 points in his 13 matches as teammates James Conn and Steven Findlay finished second and third in the points table. In division two, Tyneside’s Ben Tait led the way with 20 points from 11 matches as Newcastle United’s Cameron Stott was second.

The Northumberland team will go on to represent the Newcastle & District Golf League in the Dixon Cup at Ponteland on Sunday September 13. The event brings together the winning teams from the five North East men’s leagues, with the best six scores from seven players counting towards each team’s total.
