When you begin working on your putting and analysing how you read greens, aim the putter and make a putting stroke, it can be easy to tie yourself in knots and struggle to know where to focus your energy to make improvements.
Although it is the simplest movement we make with a golf club, the art of putting combines many facets – starting with how you analyse the route from your ball to the hole.
While there are lots of variations in how we move the putter and how it travels to the hole, we can demystify the reading of greens by having a consistent, quantifiable approach to green reading – as we achieve through the AimPoint system.
By learning AimPoint and the techniques which go into analysing greens effectively, free from biases and tricks our eyes can play on us when reading greens visually and subjectively, we remove so many variables.
In my experience teaching AimPoint, this process delivers measurable results for players at every level – from club golfers to professionals.
With a good read, we’re 50% of the way to making the putt. Combine this with an effective putting stroke and you’re on the path to holing many more putts and improving your scores.
