Hexham’s Susan Lam won the Northumberland County Veteran Ladies’ Golf Association Championship for a second time following a 3&2 victory in the event’s final at Arcot Hall.
Susan, who will go on to represent Northumberland in the Senior Women’s County Champion of Champions later this year, completed a hard-fought win over Almnouth-based Claire Brown on the final day of the championship.
Meanwhile, Claire posted the leading gross score in the strokeplay qualifying round, while The Longhirst Club’s Jane Marr led the nett scoring. In the new second flight matchplay event, Alnmouth’s Paula Shaw beat Hexham’s Carolyn Coulson to win the Linda Hoyle Streets Vase.
