The men’s seniors’ team from Stocksfield Golf Club lifted the Northumberland Senior Members Golf League trophy following an incredibly close end to the season.
The win – achieved with 95 points from their 12 matches as Backworth Golf Club finished second just two points behind – is Stocksfield’s third consecutive league title. The hat-trick, in the league’s 50th year, is the third for a club following those achieved by Northumberland and Hexham.
Meanwhile, Ponteland Golf Club finished third in the points table as Hexham finished fourth – both teams amassing 90 points this season.
