Srixon introduces ZX MK II woods

Srixon has announced details of its 2023 woods line-up – ZX Mk II – which is designed to deliver Tour-level performance and revolutionary energy transfer across three new drivers as well as fairway woods and hybrids.

The range is headlined by the ZX7 Mk II driver (RRP £499), which features a Variable Thickness Face which is thinner in the centre and thicker at the perimeter to boost forgiveness and ball speed. The design also allows players more control over launch to maximise shot making off the tee thanks to 4g and 8g adjustable sole weights in the heel and toe.

There’s also the ZX5 Mk II, which has a larger footprint, a flattened shape and more weight low and deep to aid launching the ball higher and straighter.

A third new driver, the ZX5 LS Mk II, builds upon the ZX5 Mk II design by moving the 8g sole weight forward to lower spin for players looking for additional distance.

The drivers each feature a redesigned Rebound Frame to increase energy transfer from the clubface to the golf ball. Two flex zones work together to generate enhanced ball speed and distance – Zone 1, the driver face, deforms inwardly at impact while Zone 2, a ring of flexibility offset from the face, deforms outwardly. When these two zones snap back to shape just after impact, the compounded energy transfer is more powerful and efficient than standard designs. Overall, this adds a 10% larger High COR area to the faces compared to the previous generation of Srixon drivers through stiffer areas where the face meets the crown and sole, and thinner areas in the first part of the crown to make it more flexible.

The range also includes new fairway woods (RRP £279) and hybrids (RRP £239) with similar technologies to increase ball speed and distance.

“With ZX Mk II, we’ve built upon the foundation of success with the previous generation,” said Joe Miller, product expert at Srixon Sports Europe. “Rebound Frame is a unique ball speed system that delivers a pure transfer of energy into the golf ball at impact. The result is an entire driver head that works in unison to deliver an unprecedented rebound effect that delivers maximum ball speed and ultimately, more distance.”

The Srixon ZX Mk II range is available from March 1, 2023.
