Shot Scope has added the Shot Scope 6 feature to its game improvement dashboard, offering golfers a quick and convenient framework to systematically lower their scores.
As the company’s shot database surpasses 460million recorded shots, it has distilled its 100-plus tour-level statistics, including Strokes Gained, into six key performance metrics that directly correlate to score improvement and handicap reduction.
The feature, which is now live in the Shot Scope mobile app and web dashboard for both existing and new users, transforms what can be a daunting data analysis process into clear, actionable insights.
The Shot Scope 6 consists of Troublesome Tee Shots, identifying misses that lead to penalty strokes or recovery shots; Driving Distance, tracking performance-average (P-Avg) to understand club distances off the tee; Greens in Regulation (GIR), one of the strongest indicators of lower scoring potential; Multiple Chip Shots, eliminating wasted strokes from inside 50 yards; Number of Three Putts, reducing the number of cheap shots lost on the greens; and Missed Putts Inside 5ft as developing short range putting proficiency can transform bogeys into pars and relieve pressure on other areas of the game.
Through the six metrics, the Shot Scope 6 provides a benchmark for scoring barriers including breaking 80 or 90.
“Breaking down the game into these six key statistics reveals a simple truth – lower scores don’t come from one magic fix, they come from making smarter, incremental decisions on every shot,” said Shot Scope CEO David Hunter. “This is the strength of the Shot Scope 6, meaningful statistics that reveal exactly where scoring potential is hiding. Improve each stat incrementally and the effect builds over time with fewer wasted shots, more controlled rounds, and hopefully a consistent downward shift in handicap.”
The Shot Scope 6 is showcased throughout the mobile app, dashboard and website – with brand ambassador and Sky Sports commentator Wayne ‘Radar’ Riley explaining each of the six and why they matter.
