Roseberry Grange charity event passes £20,000 mark

An annual charity golf day at Roseberry Grange Golf Club has raised more than £20,000 since it was launched.

The event raises money for Pancreatic Cancer UK and this year’s golf day brought together 170 players. The men’s doubles event was won by Bob Ellison and Billy Greener, while Rebecca Walkin and Kathryn Walkin won the women’s event.

“For far too long this cancer has been overlooked and survival rates remain far too low,” said organiser Dave Jenkinson – who lost his wife, Sharon, to pancreatic cancer. “Thanks to the members of Roseberry Grange – and all those who enter the charity day – we can give people a chance. A big thank you also goes to all the local golf clubs who supported the day with fourball vouchers, all those who donated to the raffle and auction, and all the volunteers who gave up their time to organise the event.”
