Slaley Hall-based Rhys Thompson continued his fine form into a third event on the Tartan Pro Tour, racing through the field in the final round to win the Cardrona Classic.
Rhys posted an eight under-par 64 on day three to jump to the top of the leaderboard and complete the most emphatic of his three wins in a row – leading the field by three shots and claiming the £3,150 winner’s cheque.
The win added to his success at both the Downfield Masters in June and the Dundonald Links Classic earlier in July.
