ProQuip Zerofit Ultimate Base Layer
It gets cold in the North East at this time of year and a good base layer is essential if you’re heading out on the course.
The Zerofit Ultimate Base Layer (RRP £60), distributed in the UK by ProQuip, promises a lot – not least with its name. Zerofit – a Japanese sports technology brand – produces what it calls the “world’s warmest base layers” for elite sports and outdoor pursuits, and its patented Heatrub technology generates five times more heat than an average compression base layer. With four-way stretch and a mock neck, it has proved a great option to have in the wardrobe as the temperature dropped. Paired with a midlayer and jacket, we’re yet to feel cold out on the course – while having another layering options allows us to adapt should the sun break through. We haven’t found a better base layer option to-date, and this one is well worth the price.
