Players from across the North East and Yorkshire have earned places in the Brabazon Trophy – which will take place at Moortown on May 21-24 – following three qualifying events.
Scotsman Kai Laing (Broomieknowe) enjoyed his first ever ace as he shot a round of 68 (four under-par) and led the field in the Northern Qualifier at Bishop Auckland.
Five birdies and the ace were enough to see him finish a shot clear of Welshman Alex James (Royal Lytham & St Annes) and Englishman Jamie Duguid, with Luke Kelly (Ashton-under-Lyne) in fourth place on two under-par.
Cole Self (Ringway), Jack Richardson (Durham City), Charlie Daughtrey (Rotherham) and George Davies (Harrogate) were the only other players to finish under-par, with George posting two eagles.
Joshua Stephens (Moortown), Nathan Ali (Cookridge Hall), Campbell Kerr (Australia) and Habib Khan (Huddersfield) all finished level-par to qualify.
Seven players finished on 73, but it was Lucas Martin (Rotherham) who squeezed in on countback as the 13th and final qualifier thanks to a level-par back nine.

In the Midlands Qualifier at Droitwich Golf Club (Worcestershire), Andrew Isaacs shot the score of the day – a four under-par 66.
Alex Emms (The Vale) was second following his round of 67, as Rotherham’s Max Reynolds finished third with a round of 68 which included a chip-in eagle on the 367-yard sixth hole.
Belton Woods’ Matthew Haynes also qualified with a one under-par round, as 17-year-old Ted Hodgkinson (Bowood) also finished on one under-par.
Daniel Smith (Holme Hall), Dempsie McFadyen (Sherwood Forest) and Kieran McCarthy (Ormskirk) all qualified on level-par.
A further nine players came in on one over-par, but it was Jack Diment (Belton Park), Marco Cruse (Royal Blackheath), Shreyas Sanmathy (Basingstoke), Charlie McKinney (Wales) and Theo Baker (Wales), who made the top 13 on countback.

Finally, tricky conditions in Sussex saw just three players break par at the Southern Qualifier at Royal Ashdown Forest – as the story of the day came from 14-year-old Lucas Weisberg.
The young Wentworth golfer had a day to remember as he shot a composed level-par round of 72 to book his spot at Moortown.
Meanwhile, Dylan Hussey (Romford) shot 71, as did Abridge’s Charlie Croker and Tommy Evans (Beaconsfield).
Lucas was one of eight players to finish level-par – including Scott Pym (Torquay), Jenson Bull (Remedy Oak), Ryan Craig (Dunstable Downs), Oliver Martin (Sand Martins), Danial Parsons (Sudbury), Henry Linley (Romford) and Ashley Watkins (Calcot Park) – who all booked their places in the main event.
Daniel Roberts (London), Charlie Rusbridge (Colne Valley) and Toby Knevett (Camberley Heath) also qualified with scores of one over-par, edging three others on countback.
