PING has unveiled the BunkR Wedge, which has been specifically engineered to assist golfers who struggle with bunker shots.
Thanks to its high loft, wide sole and iconic EYE2-style shaping, the BunkR (RRP £175) allows players to utilise a square-faced technique, simplifying bunker play and enhancing consistency.
“Many PING products have been game-changers, but the BunkR is truly life-changing. Unlike traditional wedges that require golfers to open the clubface in the bunker, the BunkR allows for a simple, square-faced approach just like any other shot,” said PING CEO and president John K Solheim. “With a square stance, feet aimed at the target and a natural swing that strikes behind the ball, the high loft and innovative design effortlessly launch the ball out of the sand and onto the green.”
The BunkR wedge takes inspiration from the PING EYE-2, with extra loft (64°) and a wide sole with 14.5° of bounce working together to help players get the ball onto the green with minimal effort.
PING has also incorporated a wedge-specific Z-Z115 shaft and PING 360 Dyla-wedge Lite Grip – which is three-quarters of an inch longer than standard grips – to enhance playability further.
