PGA in Yorkshire announces packed schedule

The PGA in Yorkshire has announced a busy schedule of pro ams and order of merit events for 2025 – including a chance for the leading two players to tee it up in Bermuda later this year.

As part of the 2025 order of merit, the top two players at the end of the season will earn places in The Goslings Invitational – which takes place in October at Belmont Hills, Mid Ocean Club and Port Royal in Bermuda. The winner of the invitational earns more than £10,000 and a spot in the PGA Tour’s Butterfield Bermuda Championship.

“We’ve got a busy year ahead, with more than £105,000 to play for throughout the season, plus a fantastic opportunity for the top two players to earn an invitation to Bermuda,” said PGA in Yorkshire secretary Andrew Smith. “We’ve already got a great buzz about this year’s order of merit and a ball hasn’t been hit yet! With some fantastic events at top venues right around the county, there are lots of opportunities for PGA professionals to earn points. Let’s see if anyone can knock Gareth [Davies] off the top spot this season.”

This year’s order of merit includes five strokeplay events – the Yorkshire Masters at York (May 12), the Yorkshire Open at Howley Hall (May 27), the Yorkshire Classic at Rotherham (June 2), the Yorkshire Championship at Hull (July 25), and the Dawn Wilson Charity Pro Am at Forest Park (September 15). The leading 16 players in the Yorkshire Classic will also progress to the Matchplay Championship.

“Every professional would love to compete in the Bermuda event, particularly with all their costs covered,” added Andrew. “Our partnerships in Bermuda – especially with the Gosling family and the Bermuda Tourism Authority – allow us to offer this fantastic opportunity. Add in the support of our sponsors and host clubs, and we have a fantastic, growing schedule of tournaments and pro ams in 2025 offering opportunities for players to showcase their skills.”
