TaylorMade has announced an updated version of its P790 irons along with a new P790 Ti model.
The irons will feature the same forged face and hollow body construction with SpeedFoam technology which made the original P790 design one of TaylorMade’s best-selling irons in the company’s history.
The new P790s refine the original topline of the irons while incorporating a more compact blade length and reduced offset. The face thickness of the irons has been reduced by 7% to produce a faster COR and for the first time includes Progressive Inverted Cone Technology, which is designed to improve accuracy throughout the set, minimising the right tendency often found in the long irons. Inside the clubhead, 15% more tungsten has been added and reshaped to deliver a deeper centre of gravity.
A new P790 UDI is also available, while the P790 Ti irons have been designed using titanium to reduce weight while maintaining strength, allowing engineers to increase the amount of tungsten in the clubhead to almost half of the iron head mass, creating an ultra-low centre of gravity, improved launch and more forgiveness. The Ti irons have an RRP of £2,699.
