MacGregor launches V-MAX driver, fairways, hybrids and irons

MacGregor Golf has launched the V-MAX SPEED line of woods and V-MAX irons for 2024.

The V-MAX SPEED driver and fairway wood range returns the brand to a level of technology and innovation that has seen MacGregor feature in the winner’s bag at 59 majors, while maintaining the affordable quality for which the brand has more recently been known.

“I’m delighted to bring a new range of MacGregor game improvement clubs to the market,” said Graeme Stevens, managing director of MacGregor. “The brand has such a rich heritage of performance innovation and the range has a lot to live up to, but I really believe we’ve met that standard while retaining the level of affordable quality that fans of the brand have grown to appreciate.”

With a high MOI design for stability on off-centre hits, an oversize sweet spot and a regular flex graphite Dynamic Launch shaft, the V-MAX SPEED driver (RRP £129.99) is set up to deliver a consistent ball flight and minimal dispersion for golfers of all abilities. Add in an aerodynamic head featuring SPEED contours to reduce drag and increase clubhead speed, and an ultra slim face for optimised ball speed, and the V-MAX SPEED delivers distance and game improvement credentials.

With a confidence-inspiring low-profile design, the V-MAX SPEED Fairway (RRP £79.99) boasts high MOI with peripheral weighting, while a low centre of gravity helps launch the ball with ease and maintain consistency of ball flight, while the thin face and aerodynamic clubhead design with SPEED contours helps reduce drag and promote distance.

Meanwhile, MacGregor will return to the irons market with the launch of the V-MAX irons and driving iron.

Packed with features that promote accuracy, forgiveness and control, the V-MAX irons feature an enclosed cavity back, high MOI and low centre of gravity to assist with launch and forgiveness, and Kinetic Sole technology uses evenly spaced grooves to promote a smooth transfer of energy from club to ball even on imperfect strikes.

Dynamic flex on the thin clubface delivers consistent distance while retaining a soft feel and playability, while a traditional top line inspires confidence at address. The irons are available in men’s RH 5-SW with steel shafts (RRP £249.99), men’s RH 5-SW with graphite shafts (£299.99), and ladies’ RH 6-SW with graphite shafts (£279.99).

The new range also includes the V-MAX SPEED Hybrid (RRP £79.99) which is available in 18°, 21° and 24° lofts for men and 24°, 27° and 30° lofts for women.
