TaylorMade has launched the next generation of its M driver range – the M5 and M6. Building on last year’s Twist Face Technology, which improved ball flights for shots from the toe and heel, the M5 and M6 aim to boost ball speeds to unprecedented levels with their Speed Injected Twist Faces. To do this, TaylorMade initially creates a driver face beyond the legal limits of flexibility before injecting resin into two tuning ports on the drivers’ faces to tune each club individually to meet the legal limit. This makes the M5 and M6 drivers faster on off-centre hits for increased forgiveness. The new face design is up to 20% thinner in places, resulting in a 66% larger sweetspot in the M5 drivers over the M3 and more than 100% larger than the original M1 in 2015. The M5 and M5 Tour variants also feature moveable weight technology in a T-track configuration.
