Lewis Harrison wins the Clwyd Open Championship

Dore & Totley-based Lewis Harrison travelled to Wales and won the Clwyd Open Championship – a World Amateur Golf Ranking event.

Played over two days, the 72-hole event brings together the Dinas Bran Cup at Vale of Llangollen and the Egerton Vase at Wrexham.

Lewis led the field on the opening day at Vale of Llangollen, shooting rounds of 70 and 72 for a two under-par total and one-shot win over Ryan Miller (Hawarden).

At Wrexham, Lewis’ rounds of 73 and 78 were enough to finish in a three-way tie at top of the 72-hole leaderboard, before he came through a sudden-death playoff with Conwy-based Matt Peacock, who won the Egerton Vase, and Iwan Lewis (Royal St Davids).
