Layering up – Abacus Sportswear announces AW midlayers

Abacus Sportwear has got the bases covered when it comes to the colder part of the season with its range of performance-driven outerwear designed to protect against rain, wind and cold.

The range is headlined by three new midlayers which offer a wide choice of options when you need to add warmth without bulk.

The men’s Bangor midlayer (RRP £99) features a stretchy, fleece material in a polyester/spandex mix – with a knitted structure on the outside and a brushed texture on the inside. The material also boasts DryCool and moisture-wicking properties, ensuring the wearer never overheats.

The men’s Hoylake Thermo midlayer (RRP £99) ramps up weather protection levels by introducing a windproof, quilted fabric that wraps around the front and back for all-round warmth. Made from a stretchy fleece material that is brushed on the inside, the Hoylake offers unrestricted movement in all directions. A long-sleeve full-zip version is also available for women (RRP £89).

Finally, the men’s and women’s Sunningdale midlayers are made from stretchy, breathable polyester fabric which has a brushed melange fleece on one side and checked pattern on the inside designed to trap warm air against the body. The men’s version (RRP £74) is a half-zip top featuring Drycool technology that transports perspiration away from the body to the fabric’s outer surface – while the inside has a check pattern which increases air circulation. The women’s version (RRP £79) has all the same attributes as the men’s midlayer and comes with a full zip.
