Wynyard-based professional James Harper topped the leaderboard in the North East & North West PGA’s Dunstanburgh Classic with a four under-par round of 66.
James led the field in the Heineken-sponsored event to climb to sixth place in the Mizuno Order of Merit. The season-long points race – currently led by Tyneside’s James Wilson, who finished in solo second at Dunstanburgh – comes to its conclusion at Slaley Hall with the Matchplay Championship September 20 & 27.
Meanwhile, Tim Dykes won the Heineken Dunstanburgh Castle Pro Am ahead of the professional tournament. Penrith-based Tim posted a four under-par score to lead the way as Martyn Jobling and James Wilson finished in a tie for second place.
