Close House has hosted the Have a Heart Charity Golf Day, welcoming more than 200 attendees to the event, which supports the Sir Graham Wylie Foundation.
Since its launch in 2011, the Have a Heart Charity Golf Day has raised money for charitable causes and now benefits the Sir Graham Wylie Foundation – which supports disadvantaged children and young people across the region through education, opportunity and community initiatives.
The 2026 edition of the event brought together sporting legends, entertainers and business leaders including Alan Shearer, Rick Shiels, Brian McFadden, Les Ferdinand, and numerous Newcastle United footballers.
Played on a hybrid layout utilising holes on the Lee Westwood Colt and Filly courses, the event was won by the team of Steve Walton, Max Walton, Peter Joynson and Henry Joynson with a Texas scramble score of 19 under-par – and raised more than £55,000 for the Sir Graham Wylie Foundation.
