Callaway Epic Flash driver
Callaway claimed many of the headlines among the early 2019 releases, as well as victories for Shane Lowry and Xander Schauffele, with the release of the Epic Flash Driver featuring Flash Face technology. Developed using artificial intelligence and machine learning, a field of computer science that uses statistical techniques to give computer systems the ability to learn from data without being explicitly programmed. A $8m supercomputer worked through 15,000 face designs to produce a driver face with subtle ripples flowing from heel to toe that, despite looking like a random pattern, work together to elevate COR in the face’s centre, increasing ball speeds for more distance. The new Callaway lineup also includes Epic Flash Woods and 2019 Apex irons, Odyssey Stroke Lab putters, and ERC golf balls.
