Evan Oliver retains the Durham County Boys’ Championship as Caylin Million becomes girls’ champion

Wearside’s Evan Oliver successfully defended the Durham County Boys’ Championship trophy at Billingham Golf Club.

Evan led the field with rounds of 72 and 75 giving him a five over-par total and a three-shot victory over Jake Lewis (South Moor).

Meanwhile, the boys’ under-16 title was won by Jaycob Wass (Rockliffe Hall) as Charlie Sandison (Whitburn) won the under-14 title. The overall nett title was won by Tom Johnson (Billingham) as the under-16 nett trophy went to Ben Weatherson (Ravensworth), and the under-14 nett trophy was won by Alex Robertson (Seaton Carew).

The event was staged alongside the Durham Girls’ Championship again this season – with Caylin Million from Chester-le-Street Golf Club leading the field with a seven over-par total.

Evan and Caylin will go on to represent Durham in the England Golf County Champion of Champions events at Woodhall Spa in September.
