England Golf announces 2026/27 Regional Squads

A total of 128 players will be part of England Golf’s Regional Squads across 10 regions – including the North and Yorkshire – for the 2026/27 campaign.

Acting as a bridge between county and national golf, the Regional Coaching Programme helps emerging talent take the next step in their journey.

The programme identifies and supports players who are demonstrating the potential to represent the relevant England age-group teams within the next two years (boys), or at junior level (girls).

Through targeted support and development opportunities, the programme aims to prepare players to thrive on the national stage and ultimately compete at elite international level.

England Golf deputy performance director Steve Burnett said: “The Regional Performance Programme plays a crucial role in helping talented young golfers make the transition from county golf to the national stage. It provides players with the support, coaching and experiences they need to continue their development and realise their potential.

“Our aim is to create a clear and connected pathway that gives every aspiring player the opportunity to progress, while developing the skills, confidence and behaviours needed to succeed at the highest level.

“Over the last year, the Performance Staff Team have undertaken a thorough review of the Regional Programme, resulting in updated selection criteria that has never been more rigorous. It is thanks to their hard work that the new look 2026/27 Regional Squads are stronger than ever as we head into the next phase of coaching and support.

“The programme has been instrumental in the development of many players who have gone on to represent England and achieve success in the amateur and professional game. Just as importantly, it helps foster a lifelong connection with golf by ensuring players enjoy a positive, challenging and rewarding experience throughout their journeys.”
