The East Riding Union of Golf Clubs’ boys’ team led the field in the Yorkshire Inter-District Union’s Junior Team Championship at Doncaster Golf Club.
The team of George Walker (71), Charles Wright (72), Harry Earl (74), Tom Hinks (74), Ewan Mackenzie (76) and Callum Burns (80) won the 41st edition of the event – which was shortened to 18 holes due to torrential rain and saw five scores from six counting towards the team total – with a score of 369 (24 over-par).
The East Riding team topped the leaderboard for the fifth time in the event’s history, leading the way by just one shot as the Harrogate and Teesside teams posted totals of 370.
Meanwhile, George led the individual scoring with his two over-par score.
