East Bierley Golf Club’s Ian Cross and Michael Clarke lifted the Yorkshire Rabbit Golf Association’s Fowler Trophy following victory in the event’s final at Scarcroft.
The YRGA foursomes knockout event dates back to 1949 and this year, 136 pairs from 68 clubs across Yorkshire took part. Following a season of matches across the county, Ian and Michael reached the final against the team from Calverley and despite Terry Collins making a hole-in-one at the fifth hole of the match, they managed to bring the trophy back to East Bierley for a second consecutive year.
